Meet Shekinah
Hi there! I'm Shekinah, happily balancing the roles of a wife and stay-at-home mom to my wonderful daughters, aged 2 and 4. Our home is nestled in the countryside where we enjoy a simpler lifestyle.
The journey of my second pregnancy and the natural birth of my child sparked a transformative shift in my life, leading me to embark on the path of becoming a doula. Throughout my pregnancy, I immersed myself in extensive research and diligently pursued online courses to ensure I was thoroughly equipped. Experiencing the beauty of a natural birth ignited a passion within me—a desire to support and guide other women to embrace a similar empowering experience.
My enthusiasm for this field is fueled by my love for research and the fervor to assist expecting mothers in achieving the informed and empowered pregnancies and births they aspire to have. I am deeply committed to exceeding expectations for my clients, going the extra mile to equip them with tailored resources and knowledge to meet their specific needs. Acknowledging the distinctiveness of each pregnancy, I aspire to be a steadfast and empathetic guide—a supportive resource dedicated to enhancing their journey into motherhood.
For me, being a doula feels like a heartfelt calling. I take immense joy in being an integral part of my clients' journeys, embracing this work as a passion that fulfills me on a profound level.
This was my 1st natural birth and first homebirth. I am so grateful Shekinah crossed my path when she did before my baby arrived. Shekinah was the calm to my roar. She was the peace to my distress. I’m not sure I could have emotionally made it through my homebirth without her, her support and her reminders to “keep breathing”. (And that awkward moan that my husband still gives me a hard time for!) She was there for me emotionally, physically, mentally and spiritually. I would hire her again and again and recommend her to allll Momma’s who want a natural birth! God has given you a gift, Shekinah!
